The project team seeks to build understanding and develop tools that can be used to engage Christians regarding the role of religious freedom in sustaining flourishing communities. The project team will investigate the biblical and historical foundations of religious freedom and its connection to economic and political freedom. The Institute will invite 25 scholars to a symposium on religious freedom to generate additional research around its biblical and historical foundations, providing insight to better sustain religious freedom. The research will lead to an academic book and teaching aids for use in the classroom. The project team will engage a broader audience with this research through a trade book, online content, and social media. The goal is to utilize multiple platforms and serve as a catalyst for renewed understanding in the faith community of the importance of religious freedom. The Institute aims to inform and equip Christians to promote religious freedom locally and beyond, leading individuals and societies to flourish.
