The Foundation pays for 100% of employee healthcare premiums and generously contributes to family premiums.

401(k)

The Foundation offers a tax-advantaged 401(k) retirement savings plan with a variety of institutional investment options, a generous employer match, and additional discretionary contributions.

Life & Disability Insurance

Basic life insurance is provided without cost to our employees and provides access to supplemental life insurance plan options for employees and their families. Short-term and long-term disability coverage is provided at no cost to our employees.

Paid Time Off

Staff members receive generous paid vacation, plus 10 days paid sick leave and 5 paid personal days. Additionally, the Foundation observes a business holiday schedule with a floating holiday each year.

Paid Parental Leave

In conjunction with the Foundation’s short-term disability plan, employees are eligible for salary continuation during a maternity leave. Additionally, staff members are eligible to receive up to 6 weeks paid parental leave for time away for the birth or adoption of a child.

Current Opportunities

Director, Individual Freedom and Free Markets

The Director of Individual Freedom and Free Markets will be responsible for catalyzing and generating new philanthropic initiatives and grant programs in the areas that span the Foundation’s Individual Freedom and Free Markets portfolio.

Investment Portfolio Accountant

The Investment Portfolio Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the day-to-day activities of the investment portfolio, accumulating, compiling, and analyzing investment data and for ensuring proper accounting, reporting and analysis of the various components of the John Templeton Foundation and Subsidiaries (the Foundation) investment portfolios.

Legal Intern, Office of the General Counsel (One Year Duration)

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Intern will support the daily operations of the legal department’s processes and systems. The ideal candidate for the role is a law student with excellent attention to detail and exceptional drafting, proofreading and editing skills.

Investment Analyst

The Investment Analyst will be primarily responsible for researching, collecting, and analyzing data, providing support to a wide range of investment operations. The Investment Analyst will take a lead role in managing due diligence, portfolio monitoring, reporting, evaluation, and other asset management functions.

Digital Communications Associate

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Communication, the Digital Communications Associate supports content development for the Foundation. S/he is responsible for developing useful and inspiring content that supports the Foundation’s goals and helps make authentic connections with key audiences sharing our goals. It is an editorial effort that must blend research, writing, and innovative multichannel storytelling.

Program Officer, Culture & Global Perspectives

The Program Officer, Culture & Global Perspectives is responsible for the management of the full life cycle of the grant process and the ongoing development of funding initiatives that draw on scholarly expertise across various traditions and academic disciplines in order to synthesize fresh understandings of how human flourishing might be pursued in pluralistic contexts and on local and global scales.

Vice President, Programs

Reporting to the President, the Vice President, Programs (VP), will lead the Foundation’s Human Sciences, Character Virtue Development (CVD) and Individual Freedom and Free Market (IFFM) portfolios. In this role, the VP will create and execute a strategic vision for grant programs and serve as an important strategic partner to the President and other senior leaders.

Communications & Engagement Associate

The Communications & Engagement Associate will provide administrative support for the Communications and Engagement Team.

Speaker Series

Our monthly Speaker Series provides opportunities for our employees to gain valuable insights into a variety of research areas that the Foundation supports. Many of our speakers are current or former grantees whose work addresses our major Funding Areas.

Service Days

Staff are invited to participate in service days throughout the year in order to give back to communities in the greater Philadelphia region and beyond. To date we have built a library in a local high school, hosted a reading initiative and book giveaway in a local elementary school, and partnered with a local organization to pack meals for hunger relief.

Annual Staff Outing

Our Annual Staff Outing invites staff, family, and friends to enjoy time out of the office together. We have hosted special events at local Philadelphia favorites such as the Franklin Institute and the Philadelphia Zoo. Most recently, we joined the Phanatic to cheer on the Phillies at a home game.

Open Forums

Monthly Open Forums provide an opportunity for communication of important information that affects all team members. Each open forum includes staff presentations on our grant making activities or other aspects of our work at the Foundation.
