Scholars and writers from Russia, Ukraine, or Belarus have played an illustrious role in the human search for knowledge and understanding. Today, however, philosophical and theological work in these regions is much less connected to international scholarship than it could be. The goal of this project is to support philosophers and theologians in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus and to forge connections between scholars from these regions and their counterparts in English-speaking countries. The project will include a number of academic conferences and workshops in Russia and Ukraine, a series of lectures for wider audiences given by world-class philosophers, sociologists, and theologians (in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kiev), and the translation of several important monographs in philosophy into Russian and Ukrainian. It is hoped that this project will support current scholarship and promote the intellectual development of the next generation of philosophers and theologians from Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.
