Policymakers, education leaders, and teachers increasingly recognize that students need both academic knowledge and durable skills, such as decision-making, to thrive in a complex world. However, teachers often lack practical tools to help students connect classroom learning to real-world decisions. To address this need, the Alliance for Decision Education (the Alliance) is developing and piloting an innovative digital tool (our “AI Lesson Wizard”) that generates customized Decision Education lessons aligned with core content areas. The tool includes built-in support to guide teachers through planning and instruction.
Inspired by the question “How can we scale support for teachers implementing Decision Education in classrooms?”, we will use our Decision Education Incubator, a field-tested model for school partnerships, to co-design, pilot, and refine this tool. The Incubator combines collaborative design, educator feedback, and individualized coaching to strengthen classroom implementation and ensure that Decision Education practices are both effective and sustainable.
Project deliverables include: A fully functional AI Lesson Wizard with embedded professional supports; pilot findings and educator feedback; case studies, digital content, and a white paper documenting implementation insights and emerging impact.
This work will deepen our understanding of how scalable tools can empower educators to nurture students’ decision-making skills, enhancing their agency, curiosity, and capacity to shape their lives and communities, while cultivating truth-seeking, intellectual humility, and active open-mindedness. Beyond the pilot, the refined tool and resulting insights will inform the broader field of Decision Education, driving future research, innovation, and adoption across sectors. By equipping educators with effective, evidence-based resources, we move closer to a future where every student can navigate decisions with clarity, agency, and purpose.
