This project upholds theology and the human sciences as valuable partners in truth-seeking. There are specific challenges to this cooperation in Latin American Evangelical communities, where engagement with the sciences is fraught with taboos and false dichotomies. We hope to bring salve to this dilemma through leadership and media development, wherein we explore the most practical ways theology and the human sciences inform each other. We’ll also discover how to best distribute this content, gaining feedback on pieces, and assessing the most efficient impact. Through a robust training program in the Human Sciences and leadership development, we’ll be able to produce dozens of professionally researched articles, podcasts, and videos for a popular Christian online platform, as well as scholarly articles, a book prospectus, and a primer geared towards ministry leaders in Latin America. The deeper training and support provided by this project, and the enduring shelf-life of content on the online platforms we’re partnered with, will position our team for long-term, sustainable impact as faith-science leaders in Latin America. For these reasons, we believe we can relieve some of the science taboos in the Evangelical community, and create real in-roads for science-engaged theology in the years to come.
