Program & Grant Operations Summer Intern

Position Type: Part-time, temporary internship up to 29 hours/week for up to 3 months

Organization and Position

The mission of the John Templeton Foundation is to support interdisciplinary research and catalyze conversations that inspire awe and wonder. We are working to create a world where people are curious about the wonders of the universe, free to pursue lives of meaning and purpose, and motivated by great and selfless love. This position will focus on the Foundation’s grantmaking processes and data quality.

Learning Outcomes and Responsibilities

The intern will gain experience in the administrative business functions of making and managing grants, including how software systems support the business function(s). The intern will work with the Program & Grant Operations team (4 team members) to align the scope of the internship with both the needs of JTF as well as their interests and professional development goals.

Key areas of opportunity for the Foundation and areas of likely responsibility for the intern include: Contact maintenance in the grantmaking database, customer support, email communications, administrative due diligence and data privacy/retention.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; recent graduates and current undergraduates working towards a degree encouraged to apply.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Experience managing data and/or analytical orientation is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and process orientation.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, dedication, and service orientation.
  • Experience using Salesforce software is beneficial.
  • Ideal start date between May 12-27, 2026.

Location

The position will be based in the Foundation’s offices, located in West Conshohocken, PA. The Intern will need to maintain an in-office presence but may work remotely for a portion of their week in accordance with our hybrid work policy. West Conshohocken, PA is a short drive (~15 miles) from Philadelphia and there is a nearby commuter train station with service into downtown Philadelphia. The offices are close to residential and commercial districts with multiple restaurants.
