The ISSR Latin America Libraries project will offer recently published key works, including translations and monographs, in Spanish and Portuguese at the intersection of science, philosophy, and theology to Latin American Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), as well as provide funding opportunities for early career scholars at these institutions to make use of these volumes for their ongoing research. In this manner, the project will provide Latin American scholars in philosophy and theology with access to the latest scholarly resources in science and religion in their own languages.
By liaising with the Grupo de Comunicación Loyola (Spain), Ediciones Logos (Argentina), and the Associação Brasileira de Cristãos na Ciência (ABC2), all of which have already existing up-to-date collections in science and religion, the International Society for Science and Religion will offer up-to 60 collections (30 in Portuguese and 30 in Spanish) to Latin American HEIs.
These libraries will not only enhance research and teaching in science and religion in the region, enabling access to the latest international research, but also bridge Latin American scholars with North Atlantic authors writing in other languages, preparing the terrain for future scholarly exchange.
