Self-Control
The Foundation supports research to advance scientific understanding on the nature and development of self-control. Currently, the Foundation welcomes proposals that explore the concept of self-control within the research disciplines of psychology, sociology, philosophical theology, virtue ethics and character education.

This grant supported a systematic review of the existing research on self-control within the contexts of religion, health, and behavior. The goal of this research was to develop a comprehensive theoretical statement on the relationship between self-control and religious practice, integrating insights from social, personality, developmental, clinical, cognitive, and health psychology, as well as from the disciplines of sociology, neuroscience, economics, and medicine.
