The aim of this project is to investigate the Universe using both cosmic rays and observational cosmology methods. The project is focused on both the development of techniques for detecting cosmic rays that probe the High Energy Universe, and theoretical modeling of the evolution of the Universe under the dark-energy/ quintessence parameter. The success of the project relies on both simulations and observational data sets to model the formation of the Universe from its smallest to largest components. Results concerning cosmic rays will have direct implications in understanding the nature of cosmic radiation with broad repercussions throughout astrophysics. The enduring impact of the project will be to solve some of the outstanding conceptual problems regarding the origin, evolution and fate of the Universe.
