Associate, Planning and Evaluation (Temporary)

Position Type: Part-time temporary role not to exceed 16 hours per week for a duration of up to 6 months

The John Templeton Foundation is seeking a temporary employee to support the review and coding of grant-related data that is vital to the John Templeton Foundation’s grant assessment needs.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Legacy Academic Publications: Review historic academic publications stored in Salesforce, academic databases, and publisher websites to confirm JTF funding. Use Excel and JTF’s web-based software to accurately code data.
  • Monthly Data Processing: Review recent academic publications to confirm JTF funding and identify external funders.
  • Funding Area Coding: Identify grants and proposals relevant to the foundation’s work in specific areas of funding. Once grants and proposals are identified, extract academic publications and researchers and store using Excel and JTF web-based software.
  • Grant and Leader coding: Review grants and JTF-supported grantees to extract and code data using Salesforce, Excel and JTF’s web-based software.
  • Ad hoc Projects: Support for other strategic planning and evaluation projects that require internet research, grant review and data management.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • High School diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy.
  • Must be adept using internet research (Chrome) and data management (Excel) software. Experience using Salesforce or optical character recognition (OCR) software is beneficial.
  • Experience managing data, especially grant data or academic research, is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and process orientation.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, dedication and humility.

Location

This position will be based in the Foundation’s offices, located in West Conshohocken, PA.  The associate will need to report to the Foundation’s offices.  JTF currently maintains a Hybrid Work Policy that may permit remote work in certain circumstances.  West Conshohocken, PA is a short drive (~15 miles) from Philadelphia and within walking distance of a commuter train station into downtown Philadelphia.
