A graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a bachelor of science degree and Sewanee: The University of the South with an M.A.T. in Mathematics. Ms. Templeton also passed her examinations to become a Certified Public Accountant. Ms. Templeton was a successful entrepreneur and business owner, and upon retiring from the private sector became a middle school teacher. In 1987, Ms. Templeton formalized and continues to manage the first Laws of Life Essay Contest for elementary and high school students in Franklin County, TN. Since then, the model she developed has been replicated in numerous Laws of Life Essay Contests administered locally across the world. Ms. Templeton’s passion for animal rescues and character development in children has led to the development of programs through the Animal Harbor, an animal shelter based in Winchester, TN, that seek to combine the interaction of children with animals as a means to teach character development in young people. Ms. Templeton currently serves on the Audit Committees for the John Templeton Foundation and Templeton World Charity Foundation and is a Member of the John Templeton Foundation, Templeton World Charity Foundation, and Templeton Religion Trust. Ms. Templeton has served as an officer of Unity I, LLC since inception and in this capacity assists with the management of the Templeton Library located in Sewanee, TN.
