David Thomas

Director, Cultural Engagement

David Thomas leads digital media strategy and forges new communications partnerships for the John Templeton Foundation. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Thomas served the Foundation as Program Manager, Communications Ventures and, prior to that, Web Manager. 

Mr. Thomas takes a passionate interest in new media and the ways in which technology is changing our world. He advocates at the Foundation for innovative approaches to outreach and facilitating a global conversation about the Big Questions. These endeavors include Big Questions Online and the Nautilus digital publication.

Before joining the Foundation, he held positions as online editor-in-chief at North American Publishing Company, coordinator of multimedia services at La Salle University, and as a writing specialist at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth. He received his bachelor’s degree in writing seminars from Johns Hopkins University.
