Barnaby Marsh, D.Phil.

Senior Vice President, Management and Strategic Initiatives & Managing Director, Philanthropic Leadership Network

Barnaby Marsh oversees the grants, programs, and communications departments of the John Templeton Foundation. He also works to develop innovative practices in philanthropy. At the request of the late Sir John Templeton, Marsh created the Templeton Philanthropic Leadership Network, a group of international leaders in business and philanthropy who are seeking novel ways to address philanthropic challenges.

Before joining the Foundation, Marsh held a range of private-sector positions in management consulting, investment banking, and risk assessment. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Cornell University and attended Magdalen College, Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar. Marsh earned his D.Phil for a thesis on the economic, psychological, and biological aspects of risk-taking, and has held academic fellowships at the Hebrew University, the Smithsonian Institution, the Max Planck Institute, and New College, Oxford.
