What Works in enterprise-based solutions to poverty?

EVALUATION CRITERIA

All proposals will be evaluated for merit based on the following criteria:

A.) Clear focus on the role of free enterprise as a solution to poverty: The intent of this RFP is to encourage applied research on the contributions of free enterprise to the alleviation of poverty and to disseminate this information to opinion leaders, including the media, policy makers, legislators, executive officials, national religious leaders, as well as the senior officers of large foundations and trusts. The proposed program must focus on the positive results of free enterprise programs that alleviate poverty.

B.) Creative capability of the project team: Does the applicant have a well-documented track record of performing relevant types of research? How well has the organization engaged in effective public communication, including advising policy makers on intellectual and cultural trends as well as new policy directions?

C.) Potential for Impact: Does the applicant have a well-articulated plan of action? How will this grant serve to open new avenues of exploration and understanding?

D.) Catalytic role of the grant award: Does the proposal demonstrate how this grant will serve as a catalyst to attract outside support from new funding sources (other foundations or trusts, individual donors, etc.)? Does the applicant persuasively explain how the grant award will be used to expand the think tankÕs donor base and thereby sustain the programs and activities initiated during the two years of this grant award.
