This five-year program seeks to substantially advance current understanding of fundamental questions in evolutionary biology. Through research fellowships and the creation of a scholarly network, the project aims to stimulate the wide-ranging investigation of such topics as the origins of biological creativity, the deep logics of biological dynamics and ontology, and the concepts of teleology and ultimate purpose in the context of evolutionary biology.
