This grant supported the writing of Evolution, Creationism, and the Battle to Control America's Classrooms. Drawing on data from nine major national studies, including surveys of biology teachers, the book explores the dimensions of support and opposition to the teaching of evolution in public schools. The book is a comprehensive empirical analysis of the teaching of evolution, creationism, and intelligent design and it speaks to ongoing scholarly and policy debates among educators, policy makers, and interested citizens.
