This grant supported the development of a book on Darwinism in America, intended as a popular-level treatment of the evolution controversy for readers who are religious but do not reject evolution. The goal of the book, published as Saving Darwin: How to Be a Christian and Believe in Evolution (2008), is to reduce the tensions between the evangelical and scientific communities and the perception that science and religion must always be at odds.
