Description

This grant supported the largest and most comprehensive study ever undertaken of China’s emerging free enterprise economy. Researchers from Cornell's Center for the Study of Economy and Society (CSES), Peking University, Stanford University, and Lund University conducted two large-scale surveys of Chinese entrepreneurs, politicians, and bureaucrats to understand the mechanisms and driving forces behind China’s new economy. The study’s findings were disseminated in conferences, research articles, and books.
