Request for Proposals
The John Templeton Foundation believes that competition drives excellence. To support this philanthropic strategy we often fund competitions that operate through a Request for Proposals (RFP) grant-making process. The RFPs we fund are of two types: Externally Managed RFPs and the Foundations own Internally Managed Foundation RFP Unit.
Externally Managed RFP
Externally managed RFP programs can be created out of programs developed by the Foundation or by organizations who submit a proposal to run a RFP competition. In either case the RFP administrative procedures are managed by an external organization through funding from the Foundation.
Internally Managed Foundation RFP Unit
The Foundation is currently developing a RFP Unit which will operate at the Foundation. More information will be posted as this program develops.
NOTE: When there is an active RFP program on a certain topic, the Foundation will not accept unsolicited proposals that relate to this particular theme during the application phase for the RFP competition. We request that proposals that focus on this topical area be submitted directly to the RFP program.
