The John Templeton Foundation typically makes multiple payments during the life of a grant. A payment schedule is provided in the Award Letter. Payments are dependent on the submission and approval of required Progress and Financial Reports. The Foundation can not provide information on exactly when the payment will reach a grantee. Generally the payment will be sent to the grantee within 30 days of the scheduled report and payment date outlined in the Award Letter.

In most cases the Foundation issues the payments from a U.S.- based bank via a check. The check is sent through the U.S. mail to the designated contact as provided by the grantee. If you have updated mailing address information please contact us at programofficer@templeton.org. Please include your updated contact information and please provide us with your Grant ID Number.

Because so many of our grantees are located outside of the United States, the Foundation has made arrangements to provide payment in Euros or Sterling Pounds via a Barclays Bank check. These checks are also sent through the U.S. mail to the grantee. If you prefer to have payments sent in Euros or Sterling Pounds, please let your Program Officer know after approval notification.
