Nicholas J.S. Gibson, Ph.D.

Nicholas Gibson’s portfolio is focused on psychology of religion, spirituality and health, and positive psychology, with a particular interest in research taking an information-processing approach in these fields. Prior to being hired by the Foundation in 2011, Dr. Gibson was the Templeton Research Fellow in Science and Religion at Queens’ College, Cambridge, and was on faculty at the University of Cambridge teaching social psychology and directing a research group studying religious cognition.

Dr. Gibson received his B.A. and M.A. in Psychology and Physiology from the University of Oxford and his Ph.D. in psychology of religion from the University of Cambridge. He has several empirical publications on cognitive representations of God.
