
One of the Foundation’s first staff members, Judith Marchand has been a key administrator since 1991, having overseen operations and management and developed hundreds of grants. Ms. Marchand currently directs the annual Templeton Prize process and the Foundation’s regular gatherings of its Members, Trustees, and Board of Advisors.
Ms. Marchand’s career in grant-making began while she pursued a bachelor’s degree in management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. As an administrator at the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Medicine, she prepared grants for government, pharmaceutical, and foundation sponsorship. Ms. Marchand also managed the design and implementation of the department’s grants and contracts database and served under the department chairman as coordinator of faculty affairs.
