Douglas W. Scott, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, oversees the Accounting, Finance, Grants Administration, Human Resources, and Information Technology departments of the John Templeton Foundation. Before joining the Foundation, Mr. Scott held a range of leadership roles in operational and general management for large corporations and in entrepreneurial environments. He was a partner of Phildius, Kenyon & Scott (PKS), a Merchant Banking and Consulting Partnership in the Healthcare Space, investing in healthcare product and service start-up companies as well as consulting to high-cap companies. He was also a partner at Mainstone Partners, a consulting partnership providing general business consulting as well as specialized expertise to owners of small businesses.
 
Mr. Scott received his B.A. in Economics from Harvard College and his M.B.A. in General Management from Harvard Business School. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Candela Corporation from 1992-2010, serving as the Chairman of the Compensation Committee and an Audit Committee member.
