Doreen J. Bobrow
Director of Portfolio Accounting
Doreen J. Bobrow is the Director of Portfolio Accounting for the John Templeton Foundation. She is responsible for the proper reporting, accounting, and analysis of the various components of the investment portfolios for the Foundation and its related subsidiaries. Doreen helps develop a strategic reporting structure for Foundation investment managers and custodians to support the Foundation Executive Committee’s decision-making. She also works in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer to create and enhance investment reports to reflect risk, return, and investment data relevant to the Executive Committee in satisfying their due diligence inquiries.
Doreen’s professional career includes approximately 12 years of employment at Westvaco Corporation (now MeadWestvaco), where she held positions in the New York corporate office in the Internal Audit, Accounting, and Treasurer’s departments as Senior Auditor, Senior Commercial Analyst-Special Projects, Supervisor of Accounting Analysis, Cash Manager/Financial Analyst, and Assistant Internal Audit Manager. At Westvaco Corporation, she participated in and was responsible for the review of financial audits of the company’s manufacturing facilities, compliance audits, audits of company-sponsored benefit plans and SEC filings.
Prior to joining the Foundation in 2003, Doreen worked as an accounting consultant with the Housing Authority of the County of Chester, where she designed and maintained a system to track expenditures associated with a $37 million Hope VI Grant.
Doreen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting from Bucknell University and was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York. She is the mother of two sons and enjoys playing competitive and recreational tennis, reading, and gardening.
